Even as the ousted Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawtra called for a revolution and said that he will make a come back when the time is right, protesters, most of whom were his followers brought the capital to a standstill as they attacked the Prime Minister’s car, danced atop armored vehicles, and took control of buses and the main intersections of the capital, as they demanded the end to Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva’s resignation. They also looted police cars and attacked the Prime Minister’s car with stones and poles. These protests have been a regular occurrence for the past three years.
