Studies and research are not needed to confirm what parents and teachers have known for quite some time. Every generation has its own distractions, starting from television, to videos, DVD’s and the mobile, but the social networking sites are proving to be more disruptive than all the other technologies till date. Students who spend more time chatting, making new friends, frequently checking for messages and doing all that is part of networking get lower grades when compared not only to that of students who do not spend a lot of time on these sites but also when compared to their own previous performances.
