Greenpeace an organization funded by individual contributions and foundation grants is spread across 40 countries the world over, and has since 1971 campaigned for a greener tomorrow. It all began when a small group of volunteers and journalists sailed north of Alaska to peacefully protest US government’s underground nuclear test.

Greenpeace activists held peaceful demonstrations all over the word in front of Japanese embassies demanding a fair trial for two of their Japanese staff members and to disclose information about whale meat sales. The ‘Tokyo Two’ were arrested, jailed and are being tried for exposing corruption in the Japanese whaling fleet.
